Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Out With the Old

Lately my eyes have been drying out before bedtime. My contacts were getting old. I decided to finally get rid of my old contacts and switch to new ones. It’s been a long time since I started wearing my old pair. So long I don’t remember. I decided I’d make an entry in the memory archive to record the opening of a new pair of contacts.

Getting rid of the old contacts always feels weird. I’ve often washed them down the sink. But last night I decided just to throw them away. What if they cause a pipe blockage or something?

Goodbye, old contacts. You served me well.

That is so weird. It’s been over 15 years since I’ve worn contacts, and that was back in the day when a pair was supposed to last over a year and you had to wash them nightly and soak them in enzyme cleaner weekly and take them to dinner and a movie monthly. Your contacts are barely acquaintances.

HA! Nice start to my morning, Lauren – laughing over contact humor. Good job!!

I wouldn’t worry about your pipes…I assume contact lenses can see their way clear all the way thru.

I’ve never worn contacts or glasses but I have accidently dumped someone else’s contacts down the drain before. They were Matt’s girlfriends the night before he went to West Point. So for all you contact wearers…don’t leave contacts in a cup by the sink in a hotel room with other non-wearing contact people.

In college, I think I accidentally drank a pair that were left in a shot glass.
