Satellite Radio

I got rear-ended a couple weeks ago, and while my truck has been in the shop, I’ve had a rental. It was a Ford Focus. I returned it last night. I had fun driving it, but something I won’t be missing is the satellite radio.

At first, exploring the satellite channels was fun. There were three different classical music channels! It was amazing. But then I noticed something: there were no people. Satellite music channels only play music. I missed the people. Listening to satellite radio made me feel lonely.

They display the info of musical pieces as they play!

Holy cats, look at the time on that clock. You’re on your way to work, aren’t you? That’s five minutes before Lloyd and I leave. No wonder there aren’t any people on your radio – they’re not up yet.

Actually, I took the picture on Sunday. It’s 6:29pm. Usually by 6:29am I’m already at school. 🙂

I don’t know. Have you listened to the people on the classical radio stations?

I have my radio tuned to a different station for all of NPR’s fund drive week. That’s when they are at their chattiest and most painful winging of it.

Baaaaraaaad—That’s why I liked my free satellite radio—no talking—-unless I chose it. Plus, I like to sing in my car….I can pretend it’s a mini recording studio….and well, there’s no room for idle chatter in the studio.

Did you find any all talk stations that you liked?

    • Brad

I did browse the talk stations, but the commentators were all caricatures. I couldn’t take them seriously:

“Obama is part of a plan to destroy the planet. He eats babies.”
      (change the channel)
“Sarah Palin is so dumb she doesn’t even know how to tie her shoes. Yesterday she said two plus two is five.”
      (change the channel)

        He eats babies. HA!!

She wears shoes – HA HA!
