Alleluia Mark

Yesterday was the first day back to school after Easter Break. When we come back after a long break, we often have chapel first thing. And since it was Easter chapel, and since Middle School and High School were having independent chapels, we did the “Alleluia” head stamping. Woo hoo!

I reminded them of Ash Wednesday where we marked our heads with ashes as a reminder that something is wrong in the world. Then I talked about how because of Jesus’ resurrection, our lives are marked with “Alleluia” now. We carry the joy of Alleluia inside of us all the time. And as a reminder, if they wanted to, they could have the word “Alleluia” stamped on their hand or their forehead. I’ve used this same brand of gold ink before and I know it washes off easily, so it was safe. The kids enjoy it. I do too. 🙂

This was at night after it had faded a little.

I’ve never heard of that, but what a cool idea! Was this your own idea? (You’re on the first Google page for ‘alleluia stamping’.)

Dang. Now I want to go stamp people. 🙂

I’m with Lauren! I’ve never heard of this! Awesome! Allelulia!

And now I want a tattoo.

I’m surprised I haven’t said something to you guys about it before. It’s one of my favorite chapels to do. I repeat it every year if I can. I think it might have been my own idea, but I don’t remember for sure. I did have to get the do-it-yourself stamp kits because I couldn’t find any pre-made “Alleluia” stamps. The do-it-yourself kits are outrageously expensive. I’ve slowly built my collection so now I have four stamps.

It might be cheaper to get some custom stamps made. On the other hand, then you can’t have any, “FAIL” stamps lying around.

This is genius!! I wish they would do it at Easter services. Can you get that rolling Brad?

And I love the picture….you’re looking a little like Molly’s Blunderbore.
