Mockingbird

A couple of days ago at school, I was traveling between buildings and clearly heard a bird singing it’s little head off. I looked around to find it, and it was directly over the door I was about to enter. I stopped to listen for a while and was amazed at the crazy variety in its song. I recorded it.

While switching my camera from video to picture, the bird flew into a tree. I think it was a mockingbird. It looks like the internet pictures of mockingbirds. I liked it. If I was going to have a bird singing outside my bedroom window early in the morning, I think I would choose a mockingbird, because at least I’d have some variety that way.

Nothing to look at really, but wonderful singing.

And here is the singing:

    A Mocking Bird! How pleasant.

My favorite songs are around 0:46 and 0:58. Give or take a second. And I, too, love the variation in song.

Then I started singing this in my head:

And now I hate you for your post.

Why does that bird remind me of chatter at a baseball game? “Hey, batter batter batter. C’mon! Look alive!”

Cool video. I’m glad you took it. 🙂

Toward the end there I was actually hearing the same familiar redundancy, Lauren! In the beginning I thought it was more like, “Only three more weeks…only two more weeks…of school – school – school!” Maybe that was just wishful thinking, though

That picture you captured of him is excellent!! And I love how he just sits on the roof singing away, without a care in the world. Maybe I should try that!

And while we’re speaking of birds:

oooooo…that wasn’t nice…..did he ever show them the real dove? Meany!
–not a fan of the “practical joke” in the first place

I know it was horrible….but I thought Brad enjoy it.
