Comfort Food

After my disappointing experience with mini hamburgers on Tuesday, I decided I wouldn’t take any chances yesterday. I was going to eat something I knew I liked: I was going to have Hamburger Helper Cheeseburger Macaroni. This is one of my comfort foods. I love it. In the absence of Cheeseburger Macaroni, I can also substitute Beef Stroganoff.

I ended up eating most of the box. I’m sure that’s not good for you. My sour stomach attested to that fact. But it was warm, delicious, comfort in a box. How can that be bad?

I love you, Cheeseburger Macaroni.

Okay, so maybe an extreme close-up picture makes it look less appetizing, but it was still good.

I’ve never had cheeseburger macaroni, but even close-up, that looks pretty good. Could I get the same effect by throwing some hamburger into macaroni and cheese?

It would be close, but not quite be the same. There are spices in the sauce. Burger spices.

The other morning Rachel Ray showed us all how to mix macaroni pasta, a special Michigan red meat sauce (apparently not browning the beef before adding it to the sauce makes it Michigan…?), and a lovely warm creamy cheese sauce – then use it to top hot dogs (plus some diced raw onion for garnish)! All the stuff that’s bad for the body but great for the soul on the same bun,,,and it didn’t look all that different from your Hamburger Helper close up at one point. (You know I’ve too much time on my hands when I watch morning cooking segments…) Have you seen all the HH commercials on TV lately? I think you were subliminally influenced, sir…

Yea, that picture’s not doing it for me.

Last night I had oreos for dinner & then thought….I should add something nutritious So I had Cocoa Puffs. Was I successful?

(To oreo lovers: They have a special edition out now – Nascar Oreos. I don’t know what it is, but they are DIVINE! Maybe because of the special edition they’re fresher ??? And the cream is sooo creamy! Almost melty! Sooo good!)
