Small and Short, or Big and Tall

Yesterday was a dress down day at school. We did something called Retreat Day where we play get-to-know-you games and stuff like that. I went to put on some jeans. I own three pairs. The jeans I put on felt tight around the waist. It was weird, because I like baggy jeans; all my jeans are too big for me. Despite their smallness, I left them on.

When I went to choose a shirt, I got out one of my favorite shirts. It’s a long sleeve white one where the sleeves are long and cover the backs of my hands a little. But after putting it on, I noticed the feeling of air on my stomach and back. This favorite shirt that I’ve worn a million times was too short.

What was going on? I weigh the same – did I change shape? Did I grow taller? Did my clothes shrink? Was somebody pranking me? Was I hallucinating? I decided to change my jeans and my shirt. My new jeans and my new shirt fit perfectly. The small jeans and shirt did not go back into my closet and dresser. Their fate is yet to be determined.

A shrink ray?

Sounds like you’ve fallen prey to the “chocolate makes your clothes shrink” axiom…unless you’re not the chocaholic some of us are, in which case I’d actually go with the shrink ray theory and watch where I hang the rest of my clothing from now on. Sounds like an excuse to go shopping to me!

This reminds me of the M*A*S*H episode where Hawkeye and B.J. prank Charles into thinking he has lost a bunch of weight then gained it – and more – back. So logically, Denis and Max are in cahoots.

Or maybe you had a baby over the summer. Pregnancy makes your shape change.

    Yes Virginia, there is

Yes Brad, our bodies do change shape as we get older. Isn’t it fun!
But Dr. Peffall says don’t worry until the transformation is complete. I’m going to look like this once I’m thru morphing:

I hope this is what I’m turning into, because how cool would that be?

…and here’s a clip for Lloyd. We said this all the time in high school, didn’t we?

I’m pretty sure Brad and I are morphing into this:

          • Peggy

Dang….you & Brad are the luckiest of us all!

Eew – watching a cartoon teenager’s butt turn into the trunk of a car … I’ll go with Peggy’s transformation, thanks. (Imagine the fun the animators had drawing those cels though, eh?)

Awesome! I am SO jealous, Peggy. Will you still associate with the rest of us once you are a super heroine?
