Coffee? Tea?

I ran out of tea at school, so I’ve been drinking coffee the last couple of days. Its aroma fills my classroom and makes it into a haven of smoky, woody, hazel-nutty coffee delight. And it’s so delicious. The caramel sweetness. The exquisite darkness.

The only problem is that the coffee I have at school is caffeinated. My habit is to drink two pots of brewed beverage each day. When that’s tea, the caffeine isn’t much of an issue. But with coffee? My eyeballs feel like they’ll jiggle their way out of my head. …Unless my temples just explode from all the pressure behind them. When it’s really bad, the base of my skull in back gets a terrible ache. Yesterday it was bad.

Maybe on the way to school this morning I should stop by the grocery store for some tea.

Mmm... So good...

Sorry about your hilarious chemical imbalance, but oh, how I envy that coffee pot at your fingertips. We just filled out a self-evaluation at school and one of the questions asked what could change in my work environment to improve my job performance and I answered, “A coffeepot in my room”. (Kate said we needed a full-blown mini-kitchen.)

Wait, now – you work at a school where they actually ask how they might help you improve your job performance?! That’s just not right…

I forget, do you need the caffeine? Or do you just not like the taste of decaf? You could try 1/2 and 1/2 ….. but in the meantime, please have your camera ready in case your eyes do jiggle out of their sockets.

I don’t need caffeine every morning. I’m trying to avoid that. Decaf coffee is just fine. Except it might give me an acid stomach. I have not found a decaf tea I like. But non-decaf tea doesn’t seem to have as much caffeine as coffee, so it’s my regular drink of choice now.

        You’re messed up … I’m just saying.
