Affirmation

Last night was a special church service for our eighth graders called “Affirmation”. It marks the end of their middle school time with us. We share some Bible passages, have a speaker, acknowledge special achievements, and have some cake. It’s a nice night.

This was an especially nice year. The kids in this class are a great group. It was fun to see them dressed up. I did a lot of hand shaking and congratulating, and people said nice things to me. We’ve had it at my church for the last few years. Sometimes it’s been beastly hot. This year wasn’t so bad.

We always line them up and pin flowers to them before they go in to the service. They’re always too loud.
Alphabetical order.

I love that – “They’re always too loud.” Isn’t that the way with children all the time? 🙂

They all look very nice, and I’m so glad you had such a good evening to mark the end of an era. (And here’s where I’ll stop because I’ll get sniffly.)

Oh how I remember sweating in that basement while setting up for Affirmations.

I’m so glad you had a wonderful evening Brad….even the weather cooperated! No doubt everyone had wonderful things to say to you. You will be so missed at BLS!!!!!!!!!
