Driving

I’m in Hickory, North Carolina. I’m visiting a school here that has an opening for a teacher. I got here by driving. It was just under eight hours. It’s been a long time since I’ve driven so far. It was interesting. I did have to keep my wits about me. Some of my turns came up after only 18 miles!
I would calculate what time I would be approaching each next turn.

The drive was beautiful. The rolling hills and mountains and forests… I certainly didn’t lack for scenery.

I had a pretty full schedule yesterday afternoon/evening. I was glad to get back to my hotel room. It’s lovely and big and looks like a place an important business person would stay in. I slept well.
A king size bed!

This morning is my tour of the Hickory area, then I drive back to Baltimore.

Of COURSE, a “king size bed” – you should have been treated like visiting royalty! After all, you are from the Big City!* The weather up here today is dismal and gloomy (perhaps a metaphor of sorts…) so take your good old time surveying the land and enjoying the trip back – perhaps even tomorrow? – as there’s not all that much going on in the Mid-Atlantic today. Via con Dios , dear friend…

    *…Angie told me……I’m sorry 🙁

Isn’t via con Dios what you say to somebody in an old Western right before you shoot them?

        Ha!

    Enjoy your tour your Majesty!

I think you need a Garmin. Unless that would cause tuberlance with Siri???

    1. Did you iron?
    2. Where are some pictures of the beautiful scenery?
    3. I like a Southern accent.

    • Brad

I had to iron my shirt. It got crumpled.

      More pictures tomorrow.

*sigh* That hotel room is beautiful. Did you destroy its peaceful serenity with a merciless search for bedbugs?

Can’t wait to hear about Hickory!
