I’ve been feeding my goldfish regularly, trying to train them to not be afraid of people. They’ve been really jittery ever since someone stole a bunch of fish from my pond. I’m slowly making progress. The larger fish are the bolder ones. The small ones follow.
As I feed the the fish, it gives me a chance to observe them. I have orange fish and white fish and mixed. But I’ve noticed one that has a marking I’ve never seen before: it is completely white except for the area around one eye. Its right eye is a deep reddish-orange. Ha! I really like it. It’s so interesting. Right now, it’s just about the smallest fish in my pond. I hope it grows quickly. And I hope somebody doesn’t steal it.
It’s really hard to get a picture of the side of a fish that is swimming in a pond, but I think you can at least get the idea (or should I say: eyedea? Ha!)
They are so pretty, it must be very peaceful watching them swim.
I wish I knew the name of a character with a monocle so you could name that fish, but the only one I can think of is Mr. Peanut. Hmmm…. maybe that’s not so bad.
One of the bad guys in the movie Cars II has a monacle. He speaks with a German accent and his name is Professor Z.
See you in three days! 🙂 Weee!!
Do you suppose it’s a black eye…er, red swollen eye…..from a fight…..maybe with the fish-nappers? Then you could call him Rocky. I think he might be training all the other fish.

I like Peggy’s theory. Now send those fish off to Russia and get them ready!!

After your original fish-napping story, I heard that there is wildlife here abouts that has been snatching frogs and – yes – fish from domestic ponds. Wonder if Evergreen Ave. has such wildlife as well? Hmmm…
[If people can get pink eye, do gold fish get red eye?]
