My first day in Nebraska was a sleepy blur. I got up early to get to the Baltimore airport. After the usual stressful wait in line and last-minute boarding, I found myself bumped up into First Class. I didn’t sleep much because I was busy enjoying the wondrous accommodations. After a quick run through O’Hare Airport, I was on a tiny, rickety airplane to Lincoln. I didn’t sleep much because the whole ride was bumpy. My suitcase didn’t make it to Lincoln with me.
I got to Seward in time for church, then I had a wonderful home-cooked meal at my parents’ house. I went to Lloyd and Lauren’s to wait for my suitcase to be delivered, and fell asleep. An hour later I woke up, and the suitcase still wasn’t here.
Lloyd and Lauren came home from a family reunion. We could only chat for a short while, and I was off to get some fireworks. Woo hoo! I lit some with Daniel and Anna at their house. I like the smoking kind. Two of mine were duds, though. Two!
Stumbling home after dark, I dragged myself into bed. My suitcase still isn’t here. All I have is church clothes. Will I wear them again today? I think they might have gotten me bumped to First Class. Maybe if I continue wearing them, I will get other preferential treatment. Hmmm…
I have just checked and your suitcase arrived during the night! Woo-hoo! Let’s hear it for the suitcase delivery guy! Good thing Princess Batman didn’t think he was a criminal, or there might have been blood.
Sleep in, sir. Sleep in.
I’ve never flown 1st class. Do you think if I start wearing a suit, I too could get bumped up?
And after your weekend of not good sleep & a super fun 1st day in Seward …. you may just not make up until Tuesday morning!
