Football Fun

I went to a college football game! In the rain! You may take it as a sign of the Apocalypse if you wish.

Brady invited me to watch Towson University play their homecoming football game last night. Just as we entered the stadium, it rained very heavily. We got soaked. We found some cover and waited there. In 20 minutes, it stopped… and didn’t rain the rest of the night. Thank goodness. Umbrellas were not allowed in the stadium.

After the rain ended, it was really quite pleasant.

The game was fun to watch. The other team scored first, but Towson quickly tied the score. After that, we were ahead the whole game and won. There was lots of action in the game. There were also lots of fun fans to watch. One guy a few rows ahead of us stood for the entire game. I think he only sat down for two minutes during halftime.

There were many student organizations supporting the football team. A cheer team, and dance team, and a pom-pom team all made appearances. But most exciting was the marching band. They played a lot of fun music. Brady said one of their all-time favorites with the crowd was some ESPN music they play. I could see why. It was fun to watch the crowd dance and sing along. We left at the end of the third quarter, but not before the band played the song a second time. I recorded part of it:

LOVE the music, even though I don’t know the song. (Sports allergy, y’know.)

I’m glad you went to the game, and I’m curious about the temperature. It must have been warm enough that getting wet didn’t make you too cold? Those guys ahead of you are just in T-shirts and shorts. Crazy sports fans.

Yay Tigers!! (That’s my school! Well….the school where I work now…since BLS) Glad you enjoyed your experience Brad!

I got home from the store yesterday just when the downpour typhoon hit. I literally just walked in the door when the skies opened up. And it was pretty hot here yesterdsay Lauren. I had on shorts & a T-shirt all day. Today is much nicer. Just perfect!

    HA!! Good one (…about the apocalypse…and all…)!

It’s good to see you doing things you might not have done in your prior existence – and I don’t just mean getting out of the rain. I can see why the crowd there likes the ESPN ditty – much to sway and rock back and forth to. ‘Twould get the circulation back in the arms and legs after a particularly chilly game, if nothing else.

..and I’d just let the poor dog out on the front porch after he’d been indoors for hours when the skies dumped on Rosedale – poor fellow came in all soggy. 🙁 I had to grab my very own bath towel to make him anywhere near dry enough to enter the house. He seemed appreciative. [I was just impressed that he even went out to “do his business” in that mess – previous canine cohabitants would have given me the over-the-shoulder “What are you nuts?!” look and turned around to go back into the house until the skies cleared.]
