Thai Tea

Every time I go to a Thai restaurant, I have to order Thai tea. It’s a mixture of tea, cream, and sugar. I would have a hard time saying if my favorite drink in the whole world is Nesquik strawberry milk, or Thai tea. I definitely drink strawberry milk more often, but it is much more easily obtained. I can even make it at home – but I do have to say that the formula of the strawberry milk powder has recently changed. It has less sugar. In order to make it taste right I add two tablespoons of sugar.

Anyway, Thai tea is is also delicious, but I can’t make it at home. I can only get it at Thai restaurants. I’ve searched the internet for recipes, but the main ingredient is exotic. I would have to go to an Asian grocery store, and even then I wouldn’t be sure if I were getting the right stuff or not.

I guess for now I’ll have to only get my Thai tea when I go out. Maybe that’s for the best anyway. With all the cream and sugar in the drink, I’m sure it’s not a low calorie drink.

So orange and delicious!

My eyes goggled a bit when I read ‘two tablespoons of sugar’ in your strawberry milk. I think you might be a sugar addict, sir.

I’m curious to try it. Now that I’ve looked up the recipe, I see that each glass needs two tablespoons of sugar. I see a trend here……

Hehe… A can of Pepsi has about two tablespoons of sugar. 🙂
      Sugar makes everything taste good!
(I was trying to follow that statement with an “Except…” but I couldn’t think of one. What doesn’t sugar go with? I honestly can’t think of anything at the moment.)

Is this restaurant in Towson? I seem to remember my co-worker Connie coming back from lunch with this drink. She too loved it. She’s Filipino and frequently went to a Thai restaurant that’s near TU.

I don’t know if I’d like this drink….but I do have a new favorite of my own….a Mai Tai. Mmmmmm!

Yes, it is in Towson. It’s next to the Recher Theater. I would guess it’s the same place Connie went to. It’s a really good restaurant.

I always thought tea was brownish in color. Yours looks so much more like orange juice or a fuzzy navel or something citrus-y.

The orange-colored tea is the exotic ingredient that I don’t know if I would be able to find. Before the cream is added, it’s much browner-looking.
