Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

One Thirty-eight

I stopped at Walmart yesterday to get an ear cleaning kit. I think the cold I’ve had for the last few weeks has moved to my ears. I thought maybe de-waxing my ears might help or something. The cold went from my chest to my eye to my throat first – then to my ears. Is this some kind of weird virus that I have no resistance to because I’m not from around here? I hope my ears get better soon. They sort of hurt.

Anyway, while I was in Walmart, I was hungry. I decided to go through the frozen food section and buy something delicious and bad for me. As I browsed, my eyes fell upon a Totino’s pizza. Mmm… These don’t really taste like pizza to me -they are their own peculiar flavor – but I like it. Total price? $1.38. That’s how much my dinner cost last night: $1.38. I couldn’t believe it! I should eat Totino’s pizza every night! I’d be rich! And probably pretty sick.

Mmm...

Mmm…

Possible responses I have pondered; choose the one you prefer:

    1. As poorly as it sounds you are feeling, that $1.38 quality food product is likely not going to have any taste anyway – good thing you didn’t invest more money until you feel better.

    2. Way to go to heal yourself (she types sarcastically)- fill up on preservatives, carbs, and artery-clogging processed cheeses. Way to go! You’re worth the money, Brad – go get some antioxidants, omega-3 fish oil, etc., and get healthy!

    3. Pay absolutely no attention to any advice – or consternation – shared here. You are a grown up; you know what you need to do. Enjoy your infirmity while you have it, but do take care and try to feel better soon.

    Mmmmm…… Totino’s…..

Did the medicine help? Do you feel better today? If not, go back to that crazy doctor and tell him/her that she is a nut and needs to fix your ears NOW.

    (Bossy Lauren – out.)

My ears do feel better this morning. They still feel a little weird, but they don’t hurt. I’ll have to see how they progress during the day…

4 slices? I find that barbaric. I always slice my Totinos into 8 slices. That way I get more exercise when I get up to go get 2 more slices.

$1.38?!? That is insane. Did you buy several to have on hand?

Did anything come out of your ears? Did the kit you used make that loud bubbling sound?

I think you can just put peroxide in your ears for a clean….but check me on that before you try it.

I only got one. I won’t want another Totino’s for a while now.

There was not a loud sound. The stuff I got has an active ingredient of carbolic acid. You put some drops in and let them sit, then use one of those blue squishy bulb things to wash it out.

Next time I have to read the whole article before looking at the picture. I just read the paragraph about the ear-dewaxing and then my eyes looked at the photo … and I thought … just for a moment … well, no wonder you were having problems … and then I thought … yuck!
