My school is putting on a musical in about a week. It’s the story of David and Goliath. It’s really quite fun. I am in the play. I’m the legs of Goliath. A boy is riding my shoulders and being Goliath’s head. Yesterday after school we had play practice. It was in the First Grade teacher’s room. I was sitting next to the teacher’s desk while I was waiting for my part. The papers on her desk were hilarious!
Practice went well. As soon as we have our Goliath costume, I’ll get a picture of it.
That paper looks like a good start to a good country song. “I’m sorry for what I done, Ms. Parrish…..” except I can’t think of anything that rhymes except ‘garish’ and that really has no place in a country song.
Somebody needs to videotape that play!
Are doing Rock Slinger and His Greatest Hit?
Yes! Do you know it? I think it’s got great music. And, of course, a great message.
We did it with 5 and 6th graders a few years ago. I got to write extra lines for it because of all the kids that tried out. Music was good. Not sure about the message, it was a little harsh toward tall people…
Awww……I wonder what the little 1st grader done?
And I can’t wait to see a picture of your Goliath! (Knock, knock….)
Btw: Does it hurt your back to carry the kid on your shoulders?
It doesn’t hurt my back. I’ve been worried that my bony shoulders will hurt his legs. I asked him, but he says he’s fine.
