My parents are celebrating their 50th anniversary today. Lots of people are coming in from out-of-town. Their good friends the Niedens were already here on Thursday night. Yesterday we all went to James Arthur Vineyards again.
I was excited to go, because last time, I didn’t do the wine tasting thing. For $5, you can taste six wines. I love doing this, because I can taste a bunch of different things and compare. The most unusual wine I had was chocolate wine. It was amazingly chocolatey. I bet it would be good on ice cream.
The weather was perfect yesterday. It was sunny, but cool and breezy. We sat outside in a gazebo. We enjoyed some wine, some delicious snacks, and good company.
Anniversary blessings to Mom & Dad – 50 years together is a major deal, particularly in this day and age. There was a time when I thought just living that long was a major deal; however, now that I myself am “old”, that’s not as impressive as it once was.
“Ask us about the benefit of our case club”, says the menu. Ha! I can tell you the benefit of being the member of a “buy wine by the case” club alrightee…and it wouldn’t just be the monetary advantage. 😉
That is truly a peaceful-looking 0place to sit with friends and sip an adult beverage; glad you got to be part of the day!
(No, there was no Irish section…I’ve no idea where an “oplace” is…sorry!)
*sigh* I love those gazebos. You must be living life right to go to James Arthurtwotimes in one visit.
I’m glad you’re getting the chance to spend time with old friends. What a great time of celebration! Happy Anniversary, Ron and Elaine!!!
Good grief. Carol and I are suffering from similar maladies.
Very nice! Does the winery provide the snacks or do you bring your own?
Happy Anniversary Ron & Elaine!! Have a great day with family & friends!
Sorry about my late reply. You can do either. This time we bought from them. They have really nice cheeses available. If you bring your own food, they ask that you sit outside.
