My friends Paul and Martha had a gathering at their house last night. Many of my old teacher friends from school were there. It was fun to catch up with everyone. Everyone brought various tasty foods. I decided to bring peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, because everybody loves PB&J. I cut them into small triangles. As it turns out, there were many small children there, so I don’t know if they ate all my sandwiches, or if the adults ate some.
Paul and Martha live north of Baltimore in a rural area. Their house and yard is beautiful! It was a little cool last night, so Paul lit their fire pit, and we toasted marshmallows. Other people had s’mores, but I like eating toasted marshmallows by themselves. I think I had about ten of them. Mmmm…
The fire pit looks new to me – that Paul, always improving the property…at Martha’s suggestion, I would guess?
We were headed back from Lancaster about 6:45 on the Beltway – with the 76-lb dog in the back seat – and thought “…..not tonight any more 🙁 ” – sorry to have missed s’mores, though. [Oh, and all the wonderful former co-workers, of course. ;-)]
…and watch the use of the phrase “OLD teacher friends”, would ya’? Ahem
I was thinking about ya all last night & what a perfect night it was for a cookout! I’m so sorry I had to miss it.
And Mmmmm, mmmmm…..nothing better than toasted marshmallows! Except maybe PBJ sandwiches. I had one for lunch yesterday on the most fresh bread ever & I told Ruth a really good PBJ, especially when you haven’t had one in a while, is better than a steak! I meant it too.
Lloyd always thinks of making PB&Js and yes, it is always the thing that hits the spot. Good thinking, you.
That firepit looks wonderful! I wish I was roasting a marshmallow, too. (But not eating it. Yuck.)
