I worked a late shift yesterday. That meant I had all morning to do something. And I actually DID something! Woo hoo!

I spent the morning in the kitchen. I think I’ve unpacked all the boxes that had kitchen stuff in them. I think. There might be more in the basement, but I’m not sure. The bad news is, I think I have a candle-buying problem.

A counter full of candles. And other junk.

I was able to throw a few away. I have overdosed on cinnamon smell, so I don’t like it very much anymore. The same goes for vanilla smell and clean cotton smell. I do still really like Christmas tree smell. I have three candles of that.

While I was unpacking, I finally found my Carnation cup. It has been missing all this time. I’ve been using a drinking glass, but it’s WAY too big. This cup is just right.

Hello, my old friend.

Hello, my old friend.

While I was working in the kitchen, an electrician was working in my dining room. He worked with the scary wires and safely configured them for a new light fixture. My dining room has light again!

He put in a medallion.

Well, you know what they say: the first step is acknowledging you even have the problem. Feel free to box up extra candles and save them for old local friends, too. (Remember the bouquet of Eau de Middle Schooler that seems to fill the classroom at certain times?)

Lovely light fixture, and congrats on the happy reunion! [We have certain cups and mugs for specific beverages at our house as well, so I understand the Angst while your cup was in transit.] Continue on your mission to unpack, sir, and happy new house from the inside out!

This post is just filled with good news! Your light fixture looks stunning. That medallion is so pretty! All this before work, huh? Impressive.

Seeing ALL of you candles made me Laugh Out Loud!! Now at least you have a “choice” of Fragrances!! When you light the candles, do you think you will have a fear of fire after your recent experiences? I hope not. The flicker of a candle is soothing and the fragrance is often better than without. <3 Aunt Bev (^_^)
