On my route home, I encounter many stoplights. There is one particular stretch where I consistently hit all the lights just as they are going red. It’s very frustrating. I have long suspected that the lights are timed exactly wrong. Last night I finally made the official pronouncement: these lights are timed exactly wrong. Ugh.
The only one I can do anything about is the last one. If I drive fast enough, I can make it through just before it turns. But there is a speed camera in the block that precedes the light. That makes for some tricky driving. But it is possible. Last night I did it.
I like your map – the arrows are very ominous.
After the construction here in Seward the (two – sheepish look) stoplights were set so that you hit both reds. I thought it was to slow down all the traffic on 34 (snicker), but then they fixed them. Big news, though – the green arrow to turn onto Highway 15? It comes on after the green light, not before. You won’t recognize this place.
That green arrow tricked me, too. I thought, “Rats! I missed it!” Then, “Oh! There it is. Here we go!”
Indeed – this is how B’more gets its revenue. Time lights “exactly wrong” ; “force” people to speed to beat the lights; catch them on camera; fine them; viola! Clever little minxes…
Hehe….maybe you should steer clear away from that red light district!
Ha!
I ran a red light last night taking my son and daughter-in-law to the hospital in a hurry! I’m a grandmother … 7 weeks early!
Yay! Best reason ever!!
Woo hoo! Congratulations, Grandma! That’s awesome! I hope mother and baby are doing well.
