Happy Birthday to me! Woo hoo! I’m forty-four! Or, as my high school science teacher Dr. Fuhrmann would say it: farty-far. I don’t know what his accent would be called, but it was delightful. He was from south-eastern Missouri I think. It was the most fun when Dr. Fuhrmann would be leading chapel, because he would always pray to the “Lard”. Ha!
I worked yesterday, and I brought some chocolate chip cookies with me. People thought it was weird, but how else was there going to be a party if I didn’t bring it? Plus, it’s a very hobbit thing to do – to give gifts for your own birthday.
But I have a secret: I kept some uncooked cookie dough in my refrigerator. I will eat it today on my very special day. I’m farty-far!
Blessings on that special natal anniversary – what better way to celebrate than by consuming
potentially-salmonella-bearinguncooked cookie dough! Yea!! I imagine this is a work day for you, but when you get home you can continue to party (hey, would Dr. Fuhrman say “porty” for “party” then? Just wondering…) with more de-painting, playing with Gus, continued unpacking (come on – you know you still have some) and a wrap up of video gaming and/or TV watching. Sounds glorious. Enjoy!! (Translation: God bless you, dear friend, for at least farty-far more years.)Happy birthday!
Happy farty-farth! I said several times last night, “Tomorrow is Brad’s birthday.” Enjoy these double-same digits. It is much different form 11, 22 and 33. Enjoy that cookie dough, you brave soul!
Happy Birthday, Brad! Brilliant idea to bring in your own cookies. I didn’t think it was weird, I thought it was a brilliant way to get birthday attention. Well done.
Happy Birthday my friend! In honor of your birthday I will eat something sweet.
I’ll never forget your birthday as it is also my wedding anniversary. We are celebrating by moving my husband from this hospital to acute rehab at Good Sam – right next to your church. Our granddaughter is also coming home to our house today. It’s gonna be a good day all around!
Happy farty-farth….and many mare!!!!
Enjoy your day!!!
Hau’oli la hanau (Happy Birthday) from Maui! We are still enjoying the cookies you sent us. Russell and I will eat one in your honor tonight! Have a delightful day!
Happy Birthday, Brad!
Happy Birthday Brad! I remember that you make very good chocolate chip cookies. I’m sure your co-workers enjoyed them. I do have to agree with Carol about the risks of eating raw cookie dough, but you are only 44 once, so enjoy!
Happy birthday, Brad! As soon as you mentioned Dr. Fuhrmann, the first think I thought was how he started his prayers: “Dear Lard…” Hehehe
