Wet

It was raining like crazy yesterday! I got in to work, but when it was time to go home, I was a little worried I wouldn’t be able to get out. It was so bad that road were closing because of flooding.

It was actually a pretty easy ride home. It had stopped raining, but the air was saturated with water. It was like breathing under water. There was a lot of fog along the way, but I got home without incident. I’m really wishing I had planted some seeds before all this rain came. “April showers bring May flowers” and all that…

Thought of you when I heard Falls Rd in Mt. Washington area closed due to flooding. Glad to hear you were able to still get out safely.

Yesterday’s 3-5″ was phenomenal at school too – more than once while looking out the classroom window the water was coming down in sheets so dense one could not clearly make out familiar objects across the street! (So glad the roof there is no longer leaking!!) The poor students who had to make it between buildings during a downpour looked like drowned rats when they reached their destinations. Fellowship Hall at church flooded. By His grace, our basement is in tact (that is indeed miraculous). The roof held. Much to be grateful for – including being glad our car(s) were not parked over that sinkhole we heard about on the news. Praying for drier days ahead – or that the next deluge hits the west coast, as they really seem to need it.

3-5 inches?!?! In a day? That is crazy! I’m glad that you’re getting the rain, but it would be nice to spread it out a bit, huh?

Are the animals ok when it rains like that or do they freak out?

Ugh. I won’t complain about all the troubles I had with this rain…..except to say I hated it.

Glad things settled down for you by the time you left work….and I’m glad the road didn’t open up and swallow any of us.
