Finished Products

I had lunch with Peggy yesterday. She brought along the finished pottery from our last outing to Amazing Glaze. I think it turned out nicely. Peggy’s looks very precise and neat:

I didn't take a picture of it, so here is one she sent me.

Denis’ mug looks artsy and hand-crafted.

Nice color choices.

Nice color choices.

Mine looked nice, but I wish I would have rubbed off more of the black so there was more color. Maybe next time. Or maybe I’ll try a different technique. I’m curious about mixing different colors of glaze. Does Blue and yellow glaze mixed together in a puddle make green?

My camera didn't focus on the pot for some reason.

Awesome! Peggy, the blue inside is an excellent choice. Does it make you smile every time you take a sip? Denis’ mug reminds me of sand art – very beachy and cool.

You’re getting pretty avant-garde with your techniques, Brad. Are you going to add ‘pottery artist’ to your list of talents?

They are all wonderful – no lead-based paints involved, right? I mean, since two of the three will have hot liquids in them for eventual consumption, I hope not. Nicely done, Team Glaze! (hmmm…why do I want a doughnut now?)

They assured us the glazes were food-safe. I was sorely tempted to try it. That always happens when I hear something is non-toxic… I immediately want to taste it.

Mine is so boring. I just don’t have the artistic gene that the other two have.

Denis’s looks better in person. He could sell them I’m sure. And Brad’s has this awesome iridescent glow about it. Maybe next time I’ll be more daring.

Looks like lots of fun. All of your posts about the ceramic pottery inspired me to stop at our local place. I think we may give it a go sometime this summer.

I like the poka-dots. Is that how you spell that?

Peggy, Your mug is cool and refined on the outside and true blue on the inside…just like you!
