Prunings

I have lots and lots of flowers in my garden, but I hardly ever think to cut them and bring them inside. Part of it is that I spend a lot of time in the garden and I can just appreciate the flowers there. Part of it is that when I’m inside, I’m mostly on my couch, and there isn’t really a place by the couch that I can put cut flowers.

I was in my garden this weekend, and I had to prune one plant because it was crowding another. I was carrying the prunings to the refuse pile, when I suddenly realized they were stems covered with flowers. I put the stems in a vase and they make a pretty nice table ornament. Too bad my dining room table isn’t in the living room.

They have a sweet smell.

They have a sweet smell.

Lovely! Good thinking, reusing that ‘trash’ like that. 🙂

I was thinking the same thing. One man’s trash prunings is another man’s treasure!

Your garden trash looks better than anything in my garden!
