Church choir practice was canceled last night, but I did have handbell practice. That meant staying at school until practice started at 7pm. I decided to go to dinner at a place I saw a few weeks back, but never went to.
Grilled cheese!
It’s a grilled cheese sandwich restaurant! I was so excited to go! They had a lot of fancy offerings, but I ordered a regular grilled cheese and a bowl of tomato soup. And because they were next to the cash register, I got some Berger cookies.
Mmm…
It was delicious, but I do have to say… I make better grilled cheeses. It’s about using lots and lots of butter. The tomato soup was good, if you like that sort of thing. I’m not a big fan of tomato soup. At handbells, one of the members said I should try a fancy sandwich. She said they are really good. They have fancy cheeses and some have smoky meats. I will definitely have to go back to try those.
That looks like cream of tomato soup. I add water to tomato soup, not milk. Milk = Bleh. That being said, what a great idea for a restaurant! Yes, go back and report on their other offerings!!
One of my favorite rainy and cold Saturday night meals, right there. Simply LOVE a good buttery grilled cheese with a bowl of creamy tomato soup…made with MILK. [Guess it’s good we’re not all alike that way, eh?] I’ll be glad to try any of your rejects, Lauren.
