Motivation

I spent a little time searching for a Santa hat yesterday. I used to have one before the fire, but I can’t find it now. It’s either thrown away, or it’s in a box marked “miscellaneous”.

It was late in the season to be looking for a Santa hat, so the pickings were slim. The hats I found were all pretty cheap, and were made of a material that felt like sand paper on the inside of the hat. I was afraid the skin on my forehead would be damaged, so I didn’t get anything. I may look again periodically, but if I didn’t see anything at the several stores I visited, I’m thinking I won’t see anything anywhere.

One of the places I stopped was Bed Bath and Beyond. As I was leaving, I noticed a wall-hanging for sale. The words on it were supposed to be inspirational, but they just made me laugh. “Always put your fears behind you and your dreams in front of you.” When I read the first part, I imagined all my worst fears chasing me from behind. Now that’s a good motivation to run faster.

Huh. I guess the saying is inspirational after all…

My dream is that my worst fear doesn't catch me.

Ha! Could you make an illustration for that motivational hanging?

We have a couple Santa hats here – pretty nice ones that are never used. Do you want a hat before Christmas? I could try to get one in the mail.

If I wanted the Santa hat for next Christmas, I might ask you to send it now. Hehe….

I’m not any better. I think I still have my niece’s birthday card from 2013 somewhere around my house. Sorry, Anna.

        Ouch! The truth!

Too bad I was behind on my Bradaptation lurking or I would have said, “Stop by our house! We have furry Santa hats, trimmed Santa hats, elf hats, even a pet Santa hat (ours won’t tolerate it, so if Gus wants one…).” By now the point is likely moot, but if not…you know where we live.
