Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Full Bath Again

I did it! I found a toilet that fits in my upstairs bathroom! The supply line coming out of the floor behind the stool made it difficult. The footprint of the tank had to end at least eight inches back from the drain bolt. That is a rare feature in the toilets of today.

I kind of have a brand loyalty to Kohler, but unfortunately none of their toilets fit. The toilet I got is American Standard. It has some sort of new-fangled cyclonic flushing system called Vormax. It has two flappers in the tank, and two jets of water rush through the bowl. It’s very exciting. Something isn’t quite right with the chains or screws of the flushing assembly, because the water doesn’t “sink” every time. I think I’m going to have to call the customer support line. The internet doesn’t seem to have any ideas.

Design-wise, it’s not a perfect match for my sink, but it does have some squarish edges, so it’s close.

At some later date, I will caulk the bottom of the stool.

Vormax! I think that’s my new favorite word! Or maybe new favorite swear. Can’t decide.

How nice to have a toilet again!

I can honestly say that I have never given any thought to whether my toilet matches my sink or not. If they’re the same color….they match.

But I do like centered things….and your toilet is not centered against the wall.

Well thanks for that! I’ve never noticed that before, but I’m sure it will be all I ever see when I walk into my bathroom from now on. Hehe… just kidding.

I kept twisting the toilet back and forth because I couldn’t get it to look like it was square with the wall.

Maybe you could pivot it so it’s in the corner….hence, more centered.

Here’s hoping you don’t fall off that uncentered toilet!
