Because of the snow this past weekend, I couldn’t get to school for my regular Sunday work time. Sunday night into yesterday morning, I was feeling pretty anxious. At 2:45am, I woke up and couldn’t get back to sleep. I had set my alarm for 3:00am anyway, so I decided to just get up. I was on the road shortly after four. It is the earliest I’ve ever gotten to school. I would have a TON of time to grade and plan.
And then I saw the announcement that school would be delayed two hours. D’oh!
I did get lots of work done though. All my grading and planning was done with time to spare. I even had time to chit-chat with co-workers.
I have felt this pain before – the gettoschoolonlytohearthereisnothing pain – but, like you, was then able to accomplish SO much without interruption that, in the end, felt it was worth it, especially the time-to-chat-with-coworkers part.
…and yes, I have entered the “most frequent comma use in a single sentence” age. How’m I doin’ so far?
Are you exhausted today? Do you prefer a late start or a no-school day? I would think that there are perks to both.
I just checked your WBAL radio site and see that you have another delay today, yes? Enjoy!
I am more tired today than yesterday. A stupid TV show kept me awake later than I intended to go to bed. I’m off to sleep now.
Oh… I’d rather do no school than a late start. Late starts just rile the kids up. Here’s hoping tomorrow is a regular day!
