Woo Hoo

Tuesdays are library days for the middle kids at school. Since I teach Literature, they go during my class. One of the moms who works the library sends me notes about who needs to come back down or who has late books and whatnot. Yesterday when she send me a note, I noticed something unusual:

Her note says “Woo Hoo”! I type that all the time, and I do sometimes see close friends type it, but it’s really unusual to see it in the wild. I was so excited. I took a picture of it immediately.

“to see it in the wild” – HA! If you wrote a book, I’d read it. You do have entertaining turns of the phrase, sir. And congratulations, BTW – you must be the library book Nazi* for your class to get 100% compliance. Or does this just mean nobody checked anything out, so nothing was late? Could go either way IMHO.

[*This reminds me of your former behavioral rules for students…ah, good times.]

Hehe… I’m not a book Nazi. I think there were no overdues because we haven’t had a proper library day in a while because of snow, so people haven’t had books checked out.

That’s fantastic! That mom is a good egg, and I like her ‘L’, too.

I used to love library time in grade school, but I honestly can’t remember where the library was in middle school. (We moved to the old high school.) Uh-oh, I feel the day’s distraction coming on….. Where was the library?……

I liked library day too, but I don’t remember it from middle school. I remember it from younger years, when I loved to check out books about spiders, then have horrible dreams about spiders at night.

Bop shoo bop shoo bop! I’ve always liked that phrase. “No overdues….Bop shoo bop shoo bop!! Whenever I hear it, I’m like Woo hoo!

I’ve always loved the library….still do!
