This coming Saturday is a special Pi Day. It happens only once every hundred years. Saturday’s date is 3/14/15. The value of pi is 3.1415… I’m very excited about it. I am organizing a contest at my school where students can memorize digits of pi to recite while the student body all eats pie. I totally stole the idea from Michele. (Thanks, Michele!) We have to celebrate on Friday, but that’s still cool because it’s Friday the Thirteenth.
Yesterday I was at Party City looking for some participation prizes, and when I walked past a display of personalized birthday candles, I was surprised to see one for Christ. I thought it was weird. I’ve never met any regular person named Christ. Would you use it for celebrating Jesus’ birthday at Christmas?
I picked up the package to have a closer look, and saw the rest of the name:
Ha! That is hilarious! That kid could sing a really awkward version of the ‘Christian’ song, huh? “I am a C. I am a C H. I am a C H R I S T O P H (ER)…”
..and I’m mumbling “Christ….Opher?! Since when do they include last names with these things?!?!” D’uh, Carol.
Hmm… I think “Opher” is going to be my new fake last name. It’s…. a… Spanish last name? Maybe my first name should be Alejandro. Alejandro Opher.
Apparently ‘Topher’ is short for Christopher. Who knew?
