Like New

I refinished my tub. Again. I can’t remember the first time I did it, but that time I didn’t prepare the surface properly, so I was having some adhesion problems. This time, I did it strictly by the instructions. It will take three days for the special epoxy paint to cure. In the mean time, I’m showering under a hose in the basement. It’s connected to the utility sink, so it’s warm water. It is a little weird showering in the basement though.

Anyway, the new finish looks really nice. I will love it when I get to use the upstairs shower again.

BEFORE:

There was some staining. I couldn't clean properly because I'm not supposed to use harsh cleaners on the refinished surface.

AFTER:

I'll need to re-caulk the edges too.

Good for you! I’ve just started working on taking down a houseful of wallpaper. Your sister and others are helping. It will be wonderful when that is done!

Wow! I am suitably impressed! It looks perfect and new! (Plus, I think showering under a hose sounds fun. 😉 )

Deborah, good luck with the wallpaper! I’ll have to stop by sometime and admire the handiwork. Call me when it’s time to paint. 😉

WOW! WOW! WOW! What did you use?

(Are you feeding Gus enough….he looks awfully thin.)

It’s a special tub-coating product. The brand name is Homax. Available at Lowe’s and Home Depot.

Gus is always eating. I’ve thought about switching him to a high-calorie cat food, but when I took him for his annual checkup, the vet said he was fine, so I’m leaving it alone. I’m just accepting that Gus is skinny and weak.
