It was a really nice Fourth of July yesterday. I took it kind of easy and only picked-and-choosed what I wanted to do.
I started with the anvil firing and the pancake breakfast. I don’t always make the anvil firing, but my cousin Bill and his wife Belinda were in town, and had never seen it, so I went.
I had an opportunity to see two nieces perform. Tara sang in the community choir. It was fun to watch. They are good. I like childrens choirs. They sand “Popular” from “Wicked”. It was stuck in my head for an hour or two.
Anna played violin with a group on the square. She did a great job.
I did a panoramic picture of the square. Unfortunately, the sun blinded the horrible camera in my phone. I really should get a new phone. Anyway, the panoramic view is HERE.
I of course didn’t miss seeing the cloggers. It wouldn’t be the Fourth of July without them.
The coolest thing I saw yesterday was a microbrew place that a friend and former schoolmate is opening in Seward. It’s called Bottle Rocket Brewing Company Harold had gotten a tour of the building earlier and got permission to show me around. It was cool. I look forward to its opening in October. Actually, I won’t be able to go to the opening. Maybe at Christmas time.
I watched the parade at Brent and Sandra’s. It was as fun as ever. This year there were nine Czech queens! I didn’t have a very good position for taking pictures, and my phone’s zoom feature isn’t very good. I’ll only include one picture here. This is the Czech queen who responded to our chant with a thumbs up:
After the parade, we ate. At one point in the afternoon, Brent, Beth, and I noticed that we were sitting all together. It is so rare that we are together and it’s just us. We decided to commemorate the moment with a picture:
Hooray!! It looks just like it should: smiley and festive. I am sorry to have missed it. Enjoy a restful fifth! (Not of vodka.) (Unless that’s your thing.)
Love, Love, Love ALL The Pictures Especially The “Trio” At The End & the Great Panoramic View Of The Square!!! Missed being a part of the activities this year, but Packing won the vote. Great To Be With You The Other Day. Thanks For Coming!! Blessings & Love, Aunt Bev 🙂
I fear your phone is taking lousy pix because you slam it so much (e.g., “…the horrible camera on my phone. I really should get a new phone”) You have undoubtedly damaged Siri’s self-esteem or something and now should expect nothing more than blurs and over-exposures. A little sensitivity, man!
Other than that, glad you’re having such a great time. Don’t drag your feet coming home, though. Hubby has some front garden questions for you when you get back, for one thing, and I hear you forgot to leave your picture low on the refrigerator door for Max to remember what you look like. 😉
GREAT picture of the siblings! What a good looking trio. Do you find you naturally sit in your birth order?
Glad you had another fine fourth….I imagine there’s no other kind when in Seward!
