Spamalanche

Bradaptation has been receiving a lot of attention from spam robots lately. My comment filter regularly catches over 2000 fake comments per day. Some spam comments are getting through anyway, but I mark them as spam and delete them, hoping my software is learning from me.

The other weird thing is how many spam emails are coming to my website email address. I had things set to automatically forward to my regular email address, but the result was about fifty spam emails per day in my regular email inbox.

What seemed to work was telling my regular email address to send anything from my website email address directly to the spam folder.

With my email taken care of, now maybe I can figure out how to keep any fake comments from slipping through.

It was making it hard to find actual, real emails.

I just have to say that ‘spamalanche’ is the best word ever typed or spoken. EVER.

      I agree.

Do you happen to know if every email address sent to your website forwards to your regular email, or if just the ones for email accounts you setup do?

    • Brad

I think it’s just the one account that I set up. The “to” field always says “brad@…”

Wait….you have 19 drafts? What is wrong with you.

My heart can’t take a picture of your email box. I think I’d gasp less looking at a picture of drowning puppies cats. Must slow breathing now…

Hehe… I don’t even look at that number. I looked at what is in that folder. There are more than 19 drafts in there. There are 19 unread ones. The oldest is from 2010, and is some sort of message to Lloyd and Lauren about a package I sent them.

I hope they received your package…because they wouldn’t have received your email if it is sitting in your draft folder.

    🙂
