I have not been in such a hurry to call the Seattle airport lost and found office in regard to my laptop because I didn’t think there was much hope. When I called to ask them about it, they said they had it, but they wanted me to give them the serial number. I got it in 2010 for goodness sakes!
I finally called back last night and asked if it would be okay to send the power cord and then they could turn it on and I could describe the contents. I am a little worried that some tax returns are on the hard drive. I expressed that concern. The woman on the phone chatted with me a little longer, and then asked if I could send some ID and some copies of my travel documents. If it was enough, she said she may be able to start the process of getting my laptop back to me.
It’s all sent. Unfortunately, I didn’t have my boarding passes any more. Will it be enough? I’m waiting for her reply.

Hmm… I didn’t even think of that. Maybe I should find all the links I can and include that. Actually, I think she believes me when I say it’s mine, and would just send it to me if she didn’t have some requirements placed on her by her job.
I just got off the phone with the lost and found place and with UPS. My computer is going to be sent to me! Woo hoo! My tax info will be safe!
