Welcome to Brad's online memory archives.

Class Camping

The middle school is doing their class trips this week. I’m with the sixth graders at Mar-Lu-Ridge. I came here last year, and would link to the posts, but I’m posting from my phone, so I’m keeping it simple.

We met at school this morning, then headed to the camp. Our first activity was “The Flying Squirrel”, where a team of kids hoist a single kid up on a rope. It’s loads of fun.

We continued the day with activities, games, and crafts. It was also a lot of fun. The kids were more into making God’s eyes than last year’s kids were.

We ended the day with a hike to see the sunset, and then a s’mores-making time. It was a good first day.

Today is a super-full day, then we spend the night tonight, and head home around noon tomorrow. It’s been great so far. Hoping our good weather and fun times continue…

Be sure to say hello to the chapel where my brother-in-law and his bride tied the knot while you’re up there, eh?

Good old outdoor education – overnight off site with middle schoolers – enough too make the blood run cold. Brave man, Brad Royuk. Brave man.

I think this is a great memory you all are making for those kids. An overnight campout with your class? Awesome!

Does everyone get the chance to be the hoistee?
