Time with Friends

Yesterday I got together with lots of friends. For lunch, I met Deborah and her girls at Amigos. Also there: Janet and her family from Arizona. I haven’t seen them for ages. Some of them I’d never met. There was lots of laughing and smiling. After lunch, we headed to the Concordia campus, where we did a short tour.

Going into Weller Hall.

The chapel is getting some work done on it. Most notably, a stained glass window is being added, the stage is being expanded, and the organ is being repaired.

In progress.

Our visit was short, but we’re going to try to get together again this morning.

In the evening yesterday, I went to Sam and Rachel’s house. Their friend Scott made some amazing ribs and brats, and we had a delicious meal. Afterward, we sat in their expansive back yard around a fire pit. It was wonderfully cool outside.

There were fireworks going off all around us. People start early here.

    Gus’ diary, Day 6:

So I was left alone most of the day while assorted humans went cavorting off to various places. Must be nice, being able to control the big box on wheels to cover so much territory in such short time. Me? I’ll take snuggling under warm covers over that any day, though…particularly where fireworks are involved. **jibblie**

…and BTW, that chapel seems to be getting more than “some” work done. [Can you say “total remodel”? I knew ya’ could.]
