Watering

It was a hot day again yesterday. After church, I went to get some chicken pot pie from Richardson Farms. Mmmm…. it’s so good…. Then I went home and tried to stay cool the rest of the day.

As the sun was setting, Lloyd called me. We chatted for a while. I took the opportunity to carry some buckets of water from my pond to various plants that needed some water. It’s my current favorite way to water things. I run the hose into the pond, and scoop water with a bucket. That way, I don’t have to unravel the hose and ravel it back up again. While I was in the garden, I saw that the grape tomato plant had a bunch of ripe tomatoes on it.

I usually eat them while I'm outside, but this time I decided to save them.

Right after I came inside and got off the phone with Lloyd, it started to rain. It was awesome! Very windy and lots of wonderful soaking rain. My garden sure needed it. Even the plants with bucket water will appreciate getting extra.

The cars were really plowing through rivers of water in the street.

It doesn't really show in this picture, but the rain was swirling in sheets.

Lloyd told me he got to talk to you. Thank you for making part of his drive not boring. 🙂

Those tomatoes look awesome. I haven’t had any ‘real’ tomatoes yet this year, but my new favorite is a BLT salad (with store-bought grape tomatoes). Lettuce, tomatoes, bacon and ranch dressing. Mmmmmm……… salad……

…and this morning one can open one’s front door without being slammed by a wall of heat, too – God bless soaking rains!

Our meetings start today – if you go back as well, a moment of silence now for the unofficial end of summer break.

    …..

Blessings on your year, sir, and the completion of the lifetime achievement of deck rebuilding.

but one must think that going back this year will be entirely different than going back for say the last 15 years?
