Yesterday when I got into my truck, I noticed this:
They are papers from my cell phone case, which has wallet-like card slots in it.
In the morning, I was trying to get to school early so I could do some work before classes. Normally, my early morning commute is trouble-free, but yesterday there was heavy traffic about three miles from my exit. I spent a half hour on the last few miles of my commute. Grr… I finally just took the exit before mine, which sent me west instead of east, and did a u-turn.
But not before I rear-ended someone. He stopped faster than I expected, and I bumped into him. It was a low-speed bump, but it was still a bump. He got out of his car to look at his bumper. I was freaking out. Was he going to punch me in the face? Was he going to sue me for whiplash? No… He looked at his bumper and said: “It’s not that bad, buddy,” and got back into his car. Whew! I was so relieved! What a nice guy!
And that’s why my cell phone case papers were on the floor. They had dumped out when my phone fell on the floor. I have it on my lap every morning so I can listen to the radio on it since my antenna is broken.
I didn’t get to school as early as I liked, but I still got enough done before school.
Here’s hoping today’s commute is less adventurous.
All together now: “Whew!”
Reminds me of a Christmas Eve rear-ending in our area where dear hubby said that to the lady who hit him…and it really was that bad, but he didn’t want to ruin her holiday.
Again I say…”whew!”
‘Whew’, indeed!
Praise the Lord that everyone was ok and that they guy was understanding. By the way, your commute sounds insanely long! Yikes.
That guy sounds like a pretty mellow fellow, and that’s a relief.
Whew!
Whew!!
So Glad It Was No Worse!! <3 Aunt Bev 🙂
