After church yesterday, I stayed at school, as is my wont. As is not my wont, I went to an ordination and installation in the afternoon. Wait, I’ve been to ordinations and installations before, so maybe I shouldn’t say it’s not my wont – it’s just not my usual Sunday wont. Usually, I just work at school.
There’s a guy at my church who was already an ordained pastor, and was already doing ministry among the Muslim community in Baltimore, but he wanted to be ordained as a Lutheran pastor. Yesterday, he was ordained and Called to our church to officially do his ministry from our congregation.
The service was cool. A Punjabi choir sang a Psalm. It was so interesting to listen to.
I like ordinations, because all the veteran pastors lay hands on the newly ordained one and bless him. I think that’s so cool. People should lay their hands on other people and bless them more often.
That is wonderful. I can’t lay my hands on him from far away, but may God bless his ministry!
(And yours, too!) 🙂
I used to lay hands whenever people sneezed but it was generally unappreciated. Plus I got a lot of colds.
(^_^)
It was great to see you yesterday! Have a great week.
I’m Always Impressed Whenever I Get To See A LOT Of Pastors In A Group!!!! It’s Always A “WOW” Moment To Me!! No Matter What The Occasion! 🙂
Sorry we missed this one – we’ve been “ordination”-ing up of late but this one sneaked by my radar. (I was exhausted after another 7-hr day at school Saturday, so it’s probably just as well.)
I wasn’t even aware that Falak wasn’t already “kosher”! God bless him and his work in Catonsville.
…and on a totally unrelated note: what, no mention of Talk Like a P.pirate Day this year??
