A Happy Birthday

I had a really nice day at school yesterday. I decided to forego my usual Literature lessons and to celebrate my birthday with something unusual. I had made some cookies, which I passed out to the students, and I played the first episode of the Netflix series based on the middle school books “A Series of Unfortunate Events”.

I’ve only seen the first episode, but I really like it. When I read the book, I was uncomfortable with all the bad things that happened to the kids. The show gave it kind of a fairy-tale treatment, so I didn’t feel as bad. I thought it was clever and funny. I will definitely watch more episodes.

The kids liked it too.

Hey! I fell asleep during that episode! (It wasn’t boring, I was just sick.) I think they’re doing a good job, too, but I haven’t read the books.

    What a nice birthday! 🙂

Did you think N P Harris did a good job with that part? They sure did the make-up well, I thought. He looked exactly as I thought he should.

[Hope you saw my HB wish on another social medium – we would enjoy taking you for a meal sometime soon; let us know when works best for you.]

Enjoy that 2-hr delay today – bet you were at your classroom door at the usual time anyway…
