Sometimes when I have a moment free during the day, I like to get away from my classroom and sit in the church’s coffee-and-donuts room. Most people call it the Gathering Room. I like to call it the Octagon Room, because it has eight sides. It’s so quiet and peaceful there.
On the way to the Octagon Room yesterday, I walked past the big hibiscus plants in the hallway. One of them was blooming. It made my peaceful moment away from my classroom even better.
That room is probably channeling some serious energy waves, what with its eight sides. I’m just kidding. Those alcoves are cool. Are they for information?
The alcove on the right in the picture just has those ferns in it. On the left, there’s a counter top there. That’s where the coffee maker sits on Sunday mornings.
