Favorite Flavors

I’ve switched the time setting on my website to be in sync with the Hawaii time zone. The earliest I can post each day is 12:00am, which is already 6am Eastern Time. Sorry, early risers.

I spent all day yesterday in my classroom. I am saying this without sarcasm: it was great. Because I’ve been sick, I got thrown off my game, and I’ve had a really hard time getting anything done at school. Yesterday I was in full-blown Productive Mode. I really feel ready for today (the first day of school).

I didn’t take pictures of the room because it’s not quite done. I will put the finishing touches on it before school starts this morning. I did, however, take a picture of my new coffee maker. I have a coffee maker! Woo hoo! I made a mistake and made some coffee yesterday afternoon. With the caffeine and the excitement of school starting, I had a hard time getting to sleep last night.

I also got a small CD player. I have a lot of CDs still.

I left at 7:30pm. I stopped at Home Depot for some blue masking tape, then stopped at Walmart for some lunch ingredients. On a whim, I went through the ice cream aisle. They had my favorite: Cherry Garcia! Yum! I ate some before bed last night.

It was a little melty by the time I got it home.

Are you in *gasp* pants? How is that possible in Maui? Don’t they have restrictions on that kind of thing?

Have a wonderful first day of school! Hooray for a new year full of opportunities! Your coffee/music area looks just right. 🙂

Oh, and you have a nice office chair. I never anything like that when I was teaching. How is it for napping?

It’s 1:42 m EDT as I type this and, I figure, you are just kicking off Day One over there in Paradise. God bless your day/students/awesome de-termited classroom/li’l ol’ self. In sympathy with you, we started VBS here is morning. There was loudness (it rained, so games were indoors right next to my snack area), eating(we made grapes-and-cheese-strips suns before super nova-ing/eating them), sweating (even on 70-degree days in Baltimore, when it’s raining outdoors and you’re sharing a basement area with 15 little ones…), and sharing the Good News of Jesus. Not too different from your Day One, right?
