Roots and Ross

I had a root canal yesterday after school. There were some disturbing sensations, but it didn’t hurt. I got lots of shots of anesthetic.

At one point, the dentist asked me what nationality my last name was. After I told him Ukrainian, he said: “Oh yes. Eastern European. With that jaw And those roots, I can see the Russian.”

The most interesting part was that there was a tv screen in the ceiling, and they let me choose something from Netflix. I wanted to watch “A Christmas Story”, because I haven’t seen it yet this season, but it isn’t on Netflix. But the did have Bob Ross. Awesome! He was definitely a calming influence.

I think four different episodes played while I was there.

What?!? I knew by your roots and jawline?? Either he’s a savant or he’s really good at chit-chat.

I’m very glad that the procedure is over, and that you had some happy little clouds to help you through it. That is hilarious that the t.v. is in the ceiling. I should install one like that…..

What a great idea – ceiling TV during procedures! (I once had a gynecologist who put inspirational posters on his ceiling…but I digress.) And I LOVE the Bob Ross calming effect – his voice practically anesthetizes me without anesthetic. (Not that I’d advocate trying that…)

Congratulations on your crown, King Brad – long live the king!

Omg, I’ve been saying for years that there should be t.v.s on the ceiling at the dentist! Even if you just had to watch “how to brush” or “how to floss” videos, it would be better than trying NOT to look up the dentist nose! You’re so lucky! Except for the actual dental work part.
