Rainy Celebrations

Yesterday was the last day of school before break. Things started very Christmasy with a package that was waiting for me on my desk chair. It was a hand-me-down laptop that Samith gave to me that was sent by Lloyd and Lauren. Awesome!

There was bubble wrap in the box. I let the kids pop it. They loved it!

We had all kinds of activities planned, but nothing was more exciting than the weather. It rained like crazy yesterday!

Lots of streets were flooded.

We were just at the end of ‘Arthur Christmas’ when the power suddenly went out. It was out for about 30 minutes. We got by with a flashlight and cell phone lights.

They liked the cell phone time.

With the power outage and flooding, parents started to pick their kids up early. It made for kind of a weird last day. No big ‘good-bye’ time at the end of the day… just lots of little ones spread out. Still, it was a nice time, and a memorable last day.

We even remembered to say: “See you next year!” Ha!

Sorry for the anti-climactic end of the calendar year for all of you – well, I guess a flood is its own climax to the year.

We love Arthur Christmas at the Frey house and nobody seems to show that one any more so bravo to you for sharing it.

Now…just imagine if all that water that fell had been snow! ParTICKularly amazing had it fallen where you are living now!!

Are you flying to NE for the holiday break or taking the down time to do more snorkeling and to have other local adventures? Blessings to you this Christmas wherever you spend it, Brad.

I am so surprised that packaged arrived as quickly as it did! Hooray for the postal system!

What a crazy last day of the semester. At least it makes for a great story! 🙂

What is the big, white bushy thing in the corner?
