Bigger than Expected

Happy Birthday, Lauren! Yay! It’s so weird that we’re fifty.

I went to the eye doctor yesterday. I have been trying to spend HSA money before the end of December, and eye exams and contacts are covered. I went to the only place that had appointments available. They were expensive. Yay! I could use my money!

The doctor noticed my Superman watch and commented about it. I said I was a big fan. It turns out he is an actual big fan. He reads the comics and sees ALL the shows. Ha! I couldn’t even keep up with the conversation.

After some convincing from the doctor, I agreed to under-correct my left eye and super-correct my right eye. This way, I can see far, but I can also read things with my contacts in. It’s amazing! I’m excited about it.

I was also excited about the final bill. The eye exam, plus a year’s worth of daily disposable contacts was more than I expected:

Nine-hundred dollars?!? Ha! I couldn’t believe it was so expensive! But also… Yay! I think I’m actually going to spend all my HSA money!

GULP. So much money! However, you are going to have supervision like your mom’s and will be able to see all the things without reading glasses. I will be interested in interrogating you about it. 🙂

    Thanks for the birthday wishes!
