Missing Music

I am forgetful, so I have learned to be extremely organized at school. I often leave notes and labels on things to tell my future-self what they were for or how/when to use them.

Such was the case for the middle school choir pieces I have used since I came to Maui. Each year, I’ve clipped the music together, then put a label on it. That way, I could avoid using the same music too soon, and I could find those good old pieces when I needed them again.

I am beginning my fifth year here. It’s crazy to think it’s been that long already. I keep telling people it’s my fourth. I think maybe the last couple of years have run together in my head somehow.

Anyway, since it’s been four years, I can use some of the earliest songs again. But I couldn’t find the clipped-together stacks of music. Dang it! I searched and search on Wednesday after school.

And then I found them yesterday in the morning. Right where they should have been. They had just gotten buried under a book.

Nicely done, Brad-of-the-Past! He’s looking out for you!

Maybe he should come and help me. I did get my paperwork cabinet slightly organized during our work days, but there is much that could be done to streamline it. I thought about leaving myself post-it notes! “You have two binders of these masters”, etc.
