Aquarium Ambitions

I spent some time at school yesterday. I cleaned up a little, but mostly I dreamed about my classroom aquarium. I stopped by Petco to get a 20 gallon long, because they’re half price right now. Half price!

But the 20 gallon tank looked kind of puny in the spot I plan to use, so I went back to Petco to get a 40 gallon breeder tank. Breeder tanks are shorter than regular tanks, so it would just fit under the bookshelf. There isn’t much clearance, but I think I can put the filter on the side of the tank instead of the back.

The biggest challenge is that there’s no sink in my classroom, so water changes will have to be done by bucket. I plan to have lots of plants and few fish. That should help keep the algae under control.

Too small!
Just right.

No water? That’s a shame. I say you dig a well.

The tank looks great in that spot! They kids are going to love it. Your classroom has such rich woodwork!

It’s going to be fun to set up the aquarium. Let the fun begin!

Maybe you need to get a cool cart to keep the tank on and then you can roll it to a water source when you need? Hmmmm Just would have to unplug for a min? Ponder that….why not? Or at least get a cart for the bucket hauling. LOL
