The worship director at my church as been unwell for a while. Last week he went to be with Jesus. Church service planning and music are among my skills, and also passions of mine, so I volunteered to take up those responsibilities.
It was a bit of a scramble to get the worship service assembled, then do a bulletin and a slide show. It’s a lot of work. I’m sure it will get easier as I go along. And it has been amazing how many people have said they could help with different things. Someone might be able/willing to do the slide show creation entirely. That would be awesome!
This congregation is so active, and has so many people involved. It definitely does not follow the model of 10% of the people doing 90% of the work. It’s exciting to be part of such a place.
I just heard about your music director, and how blessed your congregation is to have you fill this role – it definitely uses your gifts!
