Prayer Posts

Yesterday was the National Day of Prayer. I remembered doing prayer stations for two different prayer vigil days at Baltimore Lutheran, so I set some of them up at my school.

It was fun! I think the kids got some good out of it. My big learning of the day was how much salt a school full of kids will eat. The answer is: a lot.

Those are wonderful, Brad. I zoomed in to read them and they are inspirational and so well-written. What a blessing for (your well-seasoned) students and staff!

Fun fact: Your first prayer station reminded me of the wooden cross your Granpa Hummel (?) made for you that you left with us when you moved across the Pacific. It still stands proudly above our DVR box on the TV so we see it daily. If you ever want that back, don’t hesitate to say so and we’ll find a way to return it to you. Meanwhile, know that it is being “used” regularly to bring to mind the saving work of His Son.

Hehe… that cross was a gift, not a loan. I’m so happy it can be a good visual reminder for you.

The cross in the picture was a gift to me. From Beth? From Belize? I have such a terrible memory. I should have written it on some tape and stuck it on the bottom. Anyway, it was a nice cross for this purpose. At Baltimore Lutheran, someone had supplied a bunch of pocket crosses, and the kids were supposed to take one home with them.
