Bathroom Floor… Continued

There isn’t anything quite like houseguests to get you properly motivated to do stuff around the house. My parents and two of my aunts will be staying at my house next weekend because my cousin is getting married. I figured I should close up the hole in the bathroom floor and get things put back together in there. We’ll need the extra bathroom space.

I had stalled out because I wasn’t sure what to do next. I had braced the joists with other pieces of wood, but there were still big spaces where a new subfloor wouldn’t be supported by anything. The corners were especially troublesome. Then I was hit with a genius idea: I would use “L” bracket shelf-supports! It totally worked! I screwed the shelf-supports into the joists, so they were sturdy. And I did a lot of them, so the floor would be sturdy as well. Here’s what it looked like:

L-brackets are my friends.

I screwed the subfloor in place only to realize that I had made it perfectly level. The surrounding bathroom floor was very NOT level, so I had to pull the plywood up and make the subfloor unlevel as well. It matches the old floor pretty well now, and it’s CRAZY sturdy. Here is my quality control check:

Look! Another picture of my feet!

Your feet…in dashing sandals that are just the right length for your toes…not too much shoe handing off the end…

    Oh, and nice floor.

You know what I say about L-brackets – “If God had used L-brackets, he would have been done creating in five days.” L-brackets rule!

Pretty sad when your city gets more notice for the END of a “no shooting streak” than for the streak itself. Good old Baltimore – the city that bleeds.

–lifer Baltimoron (except for about ten years in IL and MO and back in IL)

You are a genius! Together, you & Lloyd could rule the world!

You love showing off your feet … maybe you could make a “Who’s Who” sidebar & we could all send you pictures of our feet and you could post them with no names. It’d be a unique way to diplay your readers.

HAHAHAHA!!!! That is SO FUNNY!! Love it!!!

My home computer bit the dust last night, so I just got to see this this morning! (Hey Lloyd–what do you suggest for a cheap home computer … nothing fancy)

From that view, your shorts look enormous! They remind me of the bloomers that Greek boy was wearing last weekend – the one who forgot his sash.

    • Carol

      Reminds me of a riddle:

Q.: Why did the Greek boy wear a sash?
A.: To keep his shorts up!

(…did I say it was a FUNNY riddle? NO!)

So, seriously…did his pants stay up while he danced – did he have to pull them up like those boys from the hood who wear their trouser waists somewhere near their thighs? Sorry I missed all that!!
