Yesterday was the last day of school until Monday. It was a pretty hectic day. We had Thanksgiving chapel at the end of the day. The kids were wound up. The teachers were tired. It was a typical last-day-before-a-break.
After wrestling practice, I went home to get a final few things straightened up before my parents arrived. They are visiting for a week, which I think is awesome! My mom’s two wishes are to have some good seafood and to visit IKEA. We must be related. My dad enjoys being together and hanging out. We must also be related. I guess that settles whether or not I’m adopted.
Their plane didn’t land until after 10pm, so they didn’t arrive in their rental car until almost 11:30pm. Whew! It was a late night!
Today we’ll drive to Long Island and stay with friends. Tomorrow we’ll see the Macy’s Parade. It is the start of a very fun vacation.
Poor Mom. I’m cracking up that you actually made them wait outside until you took a picture. HA!
And, um…the whole adoption thing…have you looked in a mirror lately? It’s a bit hard to deny the Dad-ness.
YAY for fun vacations!!
I. am…… happy. for. your. fun. vacation. plans.
*there* I got it all out and almost sounded sincere. That jealousy monster is at bay for another five minutes.
You were invited to a wonderful few days in St. George, but turned us down. Now we’re going all by ourselves. So sad.
You’re right, I’m an idiot. I just can’t chance not getting home by Monday. Our program is that day, and last time we went away for Thanksgiving, it took us three days to get home. I’m cursed, I say – cursed.
Are you going to the parade with the Long Island Lutheran Crowd? They are the most fun period. They used to setup between 53rd and 54th Streets across from the Ed Sullivan Theatre where David Letterman is now. I don’t know if they are still there, but I’m sure Deborah could hook you up.
Oh, and, if you do, bring Brandy. Bring a lot.
They are going with the LILuth crowd. They’re hooking up with Andy and Tracy Gove (who apparently are more or less the coodinators, now).
Yes. They’re still going. We thought about going this year, too. But I was too tired.
You really could join them, Brad. But you must bring brandy.
I laughed out loud at your picture & caption!! Hilarious!!
I hope it didn’t take 30 shots to get the one you liked!
I agree with Lauren…have. fun. with. the. most. fun. period. Long. Island. crowd…I guess….sigh….maybe us little folk will spot you on TV.
Welcome back to Balto. Mr. & Mrs. Royuk…I hope Brad doesn’t continue to make you wait outside in the dark, cold night. Have a great vacation!! 🙂
Yay for road trips! Yay for busy cities! Yay for fun parades! Yay for brandy!
Yay for visits from family!
